Ghost in The Shell and the Shadow of World Powers

It would be too easy a critique to dismiss Ghost In The Shell as another Hollywood whitewashing. The imbalanced structure of world power does not merely lie in how the West dominates the ways in which the rest of the world thinks and conducts their politics and economics, but more importantly, in how the non-Western world has inherited the aesthetics, ethics, and the shadow of such power.
