2013年的新舊貨. Another year of practising “green house”.

1. Wedgwood, pale blue Jasperware

生日收到Jasperware 70年代製的茶壺, 後來又買進半打Wedgwood Jasperware (隆全老師雅譯之爲碧玉浮雕系列) 70年代聖誕紀念盤, 都是倫敦標誌性建築. 剛好前兩年在舊貨店淘過一對Jasperware的燭臺, 偶然湊成一系列. 品牌一貫的穩重大方, 茶壺用起來得心應手, 只是因爲材質關係較重, 也容易燙手, 需要用茶暖(tea cosy)包著斟茶. 聖誕紀念盤因爲浮雕關係，平時不太用，只在聚會最後拿來作過奶酪碟，還算般配。

Jasperware最早由Josiah Wedgwood在18世紀末設計的石陶系列, 因為用了碧玉/鉄石英 (Jasper)這一材質而得名. 早期的式樣由英國新古典主義彫刻家約翰·斐拉克曼（John Flaxman，1755-1826）設計, 圖案多用希臘神話主題. 這一系列中粉藍色(pale blue) 最爲常見, 其實黑、粉紅、青、鵝黃等也玲瓏。

小總結：今年嘗試網購，結果發現包裝太過囉嗦，一個盤子需要無數紙盒、泡沫塑料等填充物，太過浪費，決心杜絕。牛津定期有古董賣品會非常豐富，也算離開慈善店遍佈的愛城的補償式驚喜。對, “always look on the bright~ side~ of~ life”. 英國charity shop和vintage fair大有寶尋, 大可既環保又酷.

“每天看到的器物会影响到你的心情，眼神，表情，体态，天长日久甚至你的视野与人生方向。所以我们一定要让自己被美物环绕，并让此事成为一个信仰。”

Indeed to keep using secondhand items is just a tiny personal effort of environmental resolutions, but as David Mitchell said in one my favourite 2013 books Cloud Atlas, “my life amounts to no more than one drop in a limitless ocean. Yet what is any ocean, but a multitude of drops?”
