For me, every culinary moment captured by camera or by human memory, is a justified reality on its own, a kind of reality that is deeply rooted in the social dimension of being human, and the fragments of individual personhood as well.
I was born into a gourmet family who are creative and fastidious about food; back to their dating days, my parents’ goal was to try every restaurant in Shanghai (they gave up very quickly after realising that restaurants were booming since the 1980s). And I wish to travel around the world to taste all kinds of delicious and quirky things; more importantly, to know how people eat, and why.
